As last day in Mexico city yesterday we have visited the charming quarter of Coyoacan, in the South end. Its beautiful small streets full of life and colors seem to belong to some completely different place compared to the North part of town in which you can really feel the feeling of a big (really big) city.
In the evening we had the pleasure to meet Tomas and Letitia for dinner a la cantina. It was indeed amazing to be able to meet people we knew from Ã…rhus back here in Mexico. We then had good suggestion for our picks of tacos: de lomo, de pastore, and…de callos (es, calluses). I don’t know who ever dared to boil calluses and serve them for dinner, but the idea here looks to be still popular! It feels like eating jelly…
In the morning we pack our backpacks and made it to the TAPO terminal to catch a bus to Puebla which is a perfect stop on our way down to the coast. The city is build on a perfect grid, and spread the feeling of a colonial town with houses painted with bright colors and elaborated tiles.
We also found out that there is a village close to Puebla (Chipilo) which is an original Venetian settlement in which the dialect from the north of the Veneto region is still spoken. We’ll try to check it out!
First: “danes” and cappuccino!
